Its name links its own past with the fact that the first Penny Black postage stamp was printed with ink made by a Leatherhead firm back in 1840. It was a Hogshead outlet when it was bought by Young's in 2004 and its original name was restored. It is a smart, bustling pub with traditional furnishings in a modern atmosphere.
